On Thursday, Alaska Republican Party District 26 (Wasilla) convened and voted in favor of a resolution to censure Sen. Lisa Murkowski. The resolution, charging Murkowski with a series of offenses against core GOP principles, was formally adopted and will now be forwarded for consideration at the State Republican Central Committee meeting on Saturday.
The district had sent the charges to Murkowski and given her time to respond, but did not hear back from her.
This action follows a growing trend across the state. Earlier this year, a Kenai district committee unanimously passed a censure resolution, citing Murkowski’s repeated criticism of former President Trump, endorsement of Democratic candidates (notably support for Mary Peltola in 2022 and 2024), resistance to Trump’s nomination of Pete Hegseth for defense secretary, and her advocacy for ranked-choice voting, viewed by Republicans as a direct conflict with their platform.
Since then, at least seven other districts have followed suit, supporting similar resolutions demanding sanctions. The Valley Republican Women of Alaska also passed a similar resolution condemning Murkowski.
This is not the GOP’s first move to formally rebuke Murkowski. In January 2021, the State Central Committee itself voted 77 percent in favor of censuring her, officially cataloging actions such as her public call for Trump’s resignation and her impeachment votes among the catalysts.
At this Saturday’s Alaska Republican Party State Central Committee meeting, delegates from around the state are expected to deliberate on these censures and consider another party censure of Murkowski.
Under party rules, if 19 of the 37 organized districts support, the Central Committee may enforce sanctions, ranging from formal censure to prohibiting Murkowski from receiving party support or attending convention events. Murkowski, originally appointed by her father Gov. Frank Murkowski to fill his seat in the Senate, has not actually received state party support since 2016 and she is not invited, nor does she attend party conventions.
The outcome would carry no direct effect on Murkowski’s Senate seat, which does not come up again for election until 2028. But a party-wide censure would send a message to Alaska voters that the Republicans are following a set process. Murkowski is the only member of the Senate or House in Alaska history who has been formally censured by her own political party.
Keep in mind that the Deep State won’t go without a fight and their minion will follow them down.
This is really bad when a Senator no longer represents the people but represents themselves. She is the definition of tyrant.
The definition of a Tyrant, is Trump you is dismantling our Rule of Law & US Constitution via Exec orders !! That is Tyranny!
TDS is strong in you TT, and that makes me smile!
Now I know Trump is doing the right thing!
Nepotism baby Princess Lisa is the very definition of deep state apparatchick.
Don’t make the mistake of concluding that she doesn’t represent the people just because she doesn’t behave like you think she should. She has been elected multiple times by we the people. That means if anyone is out of touch with popular opinion, it’s you.
Remember the 100% write-in win? That’s not likely. And remember rank voting? She is not popular
Ben–Murkowski won the 2010 election by 10,252 votes. She won 39.49% of the votes compared to Miller’s 35.49% and McAdams 23.46%. She did not win 100% as you falsely claim. In the 2022 Alaska Senate election, Murkowski won with 53.7% of the vote in the final round of ranked-choice voting. She defeated Kelly Tshibaka, who received 46.3%. She has been reelected three times. Clearly, she is popular among Alaskan voters. The AK GOP is making a mistake by going after such a popular and effective senator.
Sorry but it’s because too many people only absorb the MSM BS and, honestly, are just plain stupid. We know this because the left’s favorite President – Barack Obama told us so.
cant we just send that woman out on the outgoing ice flow?
I agree censure her. However wish we could go further and recall her.
Shirley–senators cannot be recalled.
Don’t want to write much. Please do what is possible to oust Lisa. She is not what she was long ago. Does not represent my beliefs or desired actions.
District 8 began the process under Article 7, a new rule, to censure Senator Murkowski. As Chair I recieved a formal complaint from three registered Republicans charging her. As Chair I placed the item on our next committee meeting. The committee unanimously voted to advance the censure. Murkowski was notified 15 days prior to the hearing. Her office emailed and called me, she declined to attend. The charges were brought forth read aloud by the Chair. The Committee voted unanimously to censure. We now have 12 agreeing Districts. Need 7 more. These meetings were held in March. D8 remains on war footing and is determined to help save the Republic. This is one of many efforts we are pressing forward with, stay tuned.
I appreciate your efforts to censure the reprehensible Princess Lisa, Robert, but I would like to see something more — like motions to actually condemn her as the actual traitor to this state and to this nation that she truly is.
And by traitor you mean anyone who doesn’t agree with you. I understand you come here for your own confirmation bias, but try to see beyond yourself for once.
Says another radical leftist extremist traitor.
You, and those like you, and enemies of liberty, and enemies this nation. That fact is never far from my mind.
Nice….did you think that up all on your own? I’m more conservative than most… and I think it is you who is the traitor.
George, you are a ridiculous and blatant liar. If you were in fact “more conservative than most”, you would share in the general MRAK revulsion for the radical leftism of our nepotistic RINO senator Princess Bones.
Not only are you a traitor to those Republican values that Lisa and many other have stood for including me. Your actually the enemy of liberty, the very liberty you tout so cavalry… you are the person and people who have betrayed those who love this nation.
George, your mindless and senseless blather means nothing, to me or to anyone else. It is simply the shrill wailing of a spoiled infant with an overflowing diaper.
“……And by traitor you mean anyone who doesn’t agree with you………”
Actually, that would mean actions in violation with the organizations documented rules and principles. In the case of the party, that would be the party platform and party governing rules. Senator Murkowski has been violating both for years, openly, and in daring fashion. She (and you) shouldn’t be surprised at the reaction.
Censure then deport.
Any guesses what finger she is showing them? She can’t be recalled. They are simply just a bunch of chickens clucking around the barnyard. She and the democrat party are having a good laugh.
Two things that could change this.
One) Term limits.
Two) There must be a process to recall and dismiss elected officials.
Repeal the 17th amendment. It changed the selection of a senator from being selected by the state legislature to being elected. It would give every state the option currently unavailable that their senator could be recalled and fired for not doing the job asked of them. Most of the senators elected forget what they ran their elections on and only seem to remember their voters six months away from an election date. That’s not saying that the states legislature would do a better job at selecting a replacement. This would at least give a state an option where now none exist.
I agree wholeheartedly with the repeal of the 17th Amendment. Another progress nail in America’s coffin.
“…….Repeal the 17th amendment……..”
This. Now. All state legislatures should be working this one hard. Want states rights back? Here it is.
Is Undermining the Rule of Law, the U.S. Constitution aka Democracy, our national security and our president becoming buddy-buddy with other dictators such as Putin, a “core Republican principles” ?
TT- Nowhere does it say anything about America being a democracy, It’s a Constitutional Republic. Democracy, literally meaning “rule by the people,” Not under a demented leader and a cackling hyena. Not defined by bias media or billionaire politicians that made their money from special interests and lobbyist.
You are so into the TDS that you don’t realize that the sunshine you see is the light from your @55.
Let me guess.
You’re for the Ukraine war and the 1,000,000+ people that have been unnecessarily killed.
Free Gaza, from the river to the sea.
Genital mutilation of children.
Men girls locker rooms, bathrooms, and sports.
Climate change.
And you’ve taken at least one Covid booster.
I guess to a simpleton such as yourself this might be the case. You are without a doubt the one who believes in the fantasy that DJT is the good guy. Good luck with that…lol
I suppose you think trickle down economics is good too….pathetic!
George, you think even more socialism is good? How much of my net worth are you entitled to? Be specific in your numbers please.
Grandstanding and a big waste of time because Lisa probably does not give a dang about what D26 thinks. Ya really want to censure Lisa….then vote her out of office.
More of this, please. More of this! It would be grand if EVERY district voted to censure Lisa. Then it would be up to the rest of us to primary her.
Thank you Robert for keeping us informed. It helps the DISTRICTS unite. It sends a message to the RINOS in The State Legislature that we are no longer asleep. There will be a reckoning.
Do it!!! Please! I’m so tired of all the lying our politicians do- beginning with their party affiliation! We need to call them on it from the highest levels. It is garbage that they consistently fool the ignorant masses into thinking they’re one thing and then acting and voting in a way that violates the trust of not only Alaskans, but the Americans who actually think Congress might do something positive that’s in the best interest of constituents. A starting point could be to have some integrity about which party actually owns them. I can’t remember a time when power hungry “republicans” get to Juneau & caucus with the dems only to destroy all hope of a productive session. Let Alaska be the first to start holding elected leaders accountable in every way possible for being the person they said they would be when we voted for them & their queen would be a great person to start with.
Nancy and I think that Lisa will be holding a major press conference at the Anchorage Democratic Headquarters early next week.
The sooner the better, Frankie. All of these censures against Lisa are causing you lower intestinal gas.
What happens to her Committee assignments if she becomes a Dimocrat now? No pork, no votes…
We Republicans tried to censure Lisa Murkowski at the last state convention that Ann Brown presided over. As a group, we voted by an overwelming majority to do so, but because we didn’t follow Ms. Brown’s interpretation of the rules and our understanding of her power as chairperson for the Alaska State Republican Party, she took it upon herself to simply not follow through with the wishes of the majority of her own party.
This time around, we, under the leadership in District eight and six, have followed the rules,
dotted every eye, crossed every tee, gotten legal advice and it is our understanding that when we have gotten 19 of 37 districts to sign on with their approval of our resolution, the State of Alaska Republucan Party will have no choice but to follow through with our resolution to censor Lisa Murkowski. As of this date, there are 14 districts that agree. As our Chairman for district 8 stated in his previous comment, “stay tuned.”
“Core GOP principles”?? You mean like election denial and unquestioning devotion to a sore-loser convicted felon who incited violence on Jan. 6 in a despicable effort to overturn a free and fair election? Those seem to be the only qualities that matter anymore to a once proud and truly principled party. This censure says a lot more about what’s left of the GOP than it does about Murkowski.
And, this post says a lot more about jjalaska
Your parroting of specious and maliciously dishonest Soros-provided radical leftist talking points permits me to immediately dismiss and disregard anything that you may ever have to say further in this forum.
😁👍👍
“…….unquestioning devotion to a sore-loser convicted felon who incited violence on Jan. 6 in a despicable effort to overturn a free and fair election?……..”
That sore-loser convicted felon won the presidency seven months ago. Do you deny that? Or are you a “sore-loser”? An election denier? That might have been avoided had the Democrats not nominated a comatose corpse as their candidate……..again. “You don’t have to do this, Joe”…………
There are three and a half more years to go. Enjoy. I’d wish you “better luck next time”, but I think I’ll pass………..
Murkowski don’t care your vote. TBA is to RCV computer Alaska somehow voted both Trump and his arch enemy.
3 electoral votes are not worth cheating but every senator is just as powerful as the one from CA.
What do you think?
It’s been done before. They the feckless AKGOP changed their minds.
Then sent out poor Craig Campbell to try to defend it.
Princess Pork doesn’t care what we think anyway.
She’s proven that she has neither a conscience or shame therefore, only voting her out will resolve any and all issues with her. As I would recommend to the AK GOP, we/they need to bridge the divide between dyed in wool GOPers and Conservatives, create what should be a natural coalition, and educate said coalition on unity and, getting out to vote in order to rescind RCV and, ultimately, Lisa Murkowski’s reign on that valuable Senate seat.
You get a choice of starch with that censure.
A total embarrassment.
I hope all the keyboard warriors who want to get Lisa M. out of the Senate have signed the petition to repeal RCV – or better yet signed out a petition booklet. Grousing accomplishes nothing.
Yes we censured her once, and the next time we met the SCC reversed it.
I supported the first one but have since decided a censure does not do anything if the person being censured wears it with a badge of honor.
What we need to do is be spending our time to ensure we have the Governorship, US Senate and Congress seats we now hold. Also of much importance is repealing RCV. If we do that in 2026 it will affect the 2028 election when and if she decides to run again.
We can’t stop anyone from putting an R by their name. Let’s focus on what really matters coming up in 2026!
I completely agree with your line of thinking.
Maintaining the seats we have are more important.
More focus on eliminating RCV will do more to preserve the future which comes around faster than anyone expects and if time and effort is wasted on censure now how much is it worth versus repealing RCV which can upset many seats down the road.
Considering Jubilee Underwood’s passionate plea for unity among Republicans, it is sad that some districts seem committed to provoke disunity by voting to censure Murkowski even though voters have reelected her multiple times.
Oh Barf. Jubilee’s “plea” was nothing more than a 6th grade civics assignment with REALLY poor punctuation. The real conservatives are hard at actual work.
Murkowski continues to get through because of nepotism, voter fraud in her favored villages and because of ranked choice voting. Your interest in being “accurate” SA, leaves a lot to be desired in your sparkling personality.
I will never understand conformists, quislings and lackeys for corrupt authority like you.
Jefferson,
Lisa Murkowski is not going away because she has Democrat Party support and support in the Bush. Most Republicans now hate her and it shows with multiple censures. Without a Republican primary process to get rid of her, she will continue to be a disruptive force. And if we can get rid of RCV by the end of her next term in 2028, she will simply become a registered Democrat. The Murkowski family is selfish beyond words. They encourage Lisa to garner her support wherever she can for legacy purposes. Personally, I’m convinced that Lisa is more than compromised, I feel that she has the hallmarks of confusion and loss of mental reasoning. If she relies on her parents to guide her, which I believe she does, then the Murkowski legacy is all that matters to them. Her political ideology is antithetical to the politics of her dad, Frank, both as a US Senator and as governor. Remember, the Democrats literally hated Frank Murkowski during his 24 years as an elected official. The Murkowski name is now emboldened with 45 years of elected high office, even though the dynamics of support have completely shifted. I could reveal the deep psychological issues that the family is engulfed in, but I’ll save that for another day.
Dr., if you only knew the factual background of the various family members. Pretty messy. Some dubious elements behind the scenes. No wonder Lisa looks so old.
Carol, I hope you don’t think I’m one of the dubious characters in Lisa’s life. I tried to stay out of her way and just stir up noodles at my noodle stand. She lets me wear beach gear all year round and she has me on a weekly allowance. Frankie buys us Sunday breakfast at Denny’s and I chip in on the tip.
Its hard being a Murkowski when we are banned from all of the Republican luncheons in Alaska. The Democrats, as cheap as they are, invite us to their evening wine, vsauba parties and seances. Cool people.
House Husband, next time you are at a seance would you kindly ask the medium to recall Lisa.
She’s elected “mulitple times” by skirting a primary (RCV) and having Dems vote for someone (Lisa Murkowski) that will hand them 85%+ of what they want. Game over. If you need proof, do a search for “Diane Feinstein Lisa Murkowski photo.” You’ll find the assumably compromised Ms Murkowski pinned to a wall by a senior DEMOCRAT senator. Pathetically filthy.
Thank you for showing some integrity,
Do the right thing and shut her down.
I’m losing faith in the party this gives a sliver of hope
Please sign the recall sheet
We can take more aggressive action. Drain the swamp.
Is there some way to no longer allow IT to claim to be a Republican??
It’s frustrating that she can lie her way into office by calling herself a conservative, again and again! Great article!
It would be great for Alaska to have a President as effective as possible when he cares about Alaska’s best economic interests in contrast to the previous administration who was oppositely motivated. For some personal reason Senator Murkowski wants to avoid supporting President Trump, no matter what.
